God is great

Had an interesting night. Not much sleep, temptation to start worrying about things I have no control over, getting impatient. In conclusion I learnt that none of those things made me any better, so I stopped with all that. New day now; new opportunity. Suddenly the move is on and I am in the National Hospital. I was impressed by the fact that the registrar came to see me in the evening. He was at a party but made the effort. I have a lesion on the right side of the brain. Tomorrow I will have a further scan in preparation of the operation on Tuesday. God is really great. I never thought things would move this fast.

More to come

The adventure continues. After spasms on the left I begin to have them on the right. Interesting time. As I always say, life is never dull! Was told today, that I may not go tomorrow after all. Still no bed at the National Hospital. Well, keep everything cross for me, if you can. Had load of visitors and food. Thinking of opening a cafe on the ward.

More patience

Today not so good. Further effects become apparent, like face dropping on left side. It's all good fun! Waiting on transfer now, which due on Sunday. Then I can ask more detailed questions. Hoping to get there soon. Again, all in his hands, so need to be patient.

To be..love

Thanx for all the messages. They are really important because you all offer tremendous support! Had the ultra sound on my liver. It was good news: I have a birthmark on my liver! Will be transferred on Sunday to London and should see consultant on Monday. Thank God things continue to move. I am totally in His hands! There is nothing I can do or say in the moment, but just be. Be love to those around me.

Patience

Just seen the consultant. The scans yesterday revealed some problem in my liver. Another ultra sound scan of my liver to exclude any secondary causes. He confirmed swelling of the brain, but cannot be more precise now. I asked whether it could be from banging my head at low doors but he politely smiled and said "no" probably thinking what a daft question. He informed me that I would be transferred asap to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurological Surgery in London. Now still waiting on bed from London. Will need to be patient. Steroids seem to have an effect though.

Never a dull moment

Life never ceases to amaze me! Yesterday had a seizure, today in hospital waiting. It all has something to do with tne brain. Never a dull moment! Just had another CT scan. It was unexepectedly painful. Now just waiting for the result.

I had a good laugh about some aspect of this whole saga. First to get assistance from a person half my size, then to get onto a stretcher in ambulance with the legs hanging off at the knees, then getting put through a scanner, where you have to turn round to get the whole body on the picture. And finally to get a snack at meal times. Is there nothing made for me?
